Our trip to Bournda

On our excursion, we not only visited Bournda National park and worked with the Environmental Education Centre staff, but we also did some other things.  We also visited the Eden Killer Whale Museum, the Endeavour replica tall ship and the Bega Cheese Factory.  Some pics from all these venues are shown below.

Wallagoot lake was warm, we tried catching fish after kicking the footy but only succeeded in scaring them away!

We walked around the park a fair bit and even got to see the lagoon that sadly has algae in it at the moment, in part  because of the drought conditions

Toasting marshmallows at night was cool, Mr G's ripping yarns about Australian history were OK...

The parents seemed to enjoy the stories more than us kids

Ross took us on an awesome nature walk around the park.  For some of us it was our first time at the beach ever!

Visiting the Eden Killer Whale Museum was excellent.  Our tour guide Barry was a legend!

The whalers in Eden never wasted energy in the processing of the animals.

We could all learn to use energy a little smarter to day as well.

The chance to check out the Endeavour replica tall ship was pure GOLD!

The front of the ship looks more like the back we reckon.

Captain Cook's quarters were situated at the far end of the ship.

Did you know that the biggest whale ever caught in Eden, which was also the biggest ever caught in the world was even longer than the body of the Endeavour!

Mr G still made us do morning fitness...even while we were at camp!

The last part of our excursion was a stop at the Bega Cheese factory to see how they use energy and water saving practices.
