Welcome from Mr Gardiner
G'day and welcome to our school's web page. The students of JPS and I have worked really hard to create a site that showcases all our achievements. We are perhaps the most isolated and also the smallest Public School on the Monaro. However we are by no means out of the limelight!
Children at Jerangle Learn Together through a combination of hard work, independent motivation and plenty of Quality Teaching. Most recently we have embarked on a federally funded Quality Teaching project where staff at JPS have combined with Numeralla and Bredbo Public Schools to create a mini network of isolated rural schools. Through the use of technology we have been able to significantly increase student literacy levels. This core achievement has given our students a sound base to develop further their education using Connected Outcomes Groups (COGs) in conjunction with more formal lessons on literacy and numeracy. Confidence in ICT and literacy is sky high at JPS and I have had to hone my skills just to keep pace with my class!
I encourage you to explore this site - our labour of love. It shows just how much children can achieve. I am very proud of our small school and I am confident you will be as well.
Regards,
Mark Gardiner
